Briggs and Forrester Engineering Services are pleased to announce they have been awarded the mechanical and electrical building services contract on Rhondda Cynon Taff Council’s ambitious Taff Vale development in Pontypridd with Willmott Dixon.
The commercial development comprises of two new office blocks and an ovular gateway building which will host a new library, community facilities and a gym. The scheme totals 14,693m2 of office space and is designed to regenerate the unused land which housed the former shopping precinct that was demolished in 2015.
The development will transform the gateway into Pontypridd, featuring a promenade overlooking the river and integrating the building into its surroundings. The office building will have curtain walling, with the gateway building having a distinctive zinc cladding tile system. In addition to the principal buildings, the project also includes public realm and highway work, as well as basement parking and bike stands.
Mark Clark, Operations Manager commented:
“This success further demonstrates the reputation Briggs and Forrester have within the industry for quality and innovation. The Cardiff team is looking forward to delivering a first class installation in line with Willmott Dixon and Rhondda Cynon Taff County Borough Council’s expectations”.
The mechanical and electrical installations will start on site in January 2019 and are due to be completed by February 2020.
